Promote Skillful Parenting in Cambodia to equip parents and caregivers with knowledge, skills and confidence to foster a safe, non-violent and positive family environment and to prevent and reduce violence against women and children.

Action with Family Care First (FCF)
Improving Cambodia’s Society through Skillful Parenting (ICS-SP) had utilized a Facilitator Training approach to enhance resource-based communities on positive parenting contents. Qualified and experienced trainers from ICS-SP and the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY) trained and accredited social workers of FCF implementing partner organisation and Provincial/District Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (PDoSVY), to become community-based facilitators on positive parenting. This , in turn, will deliver the Positive Parenting contents and knowledge for at risk parents and caregivers. The Positive Parenting ToT training consisted of an initial intensive 5-day training. The training was facilitated by ICS-SP and MoSVY master trainers, who have a strong understanding of positive parenting best practices in Cambodia. Curriculum and training content was based on MoWA’s Positive Parenting Toolkit, and focused on six core areas: 1) child development, 2) positive discipline, 3) parental well-being, 4) family communication, 5) roles and responsibilities, and 6) child protection. ICS-SP purposes fathers, mothers and other caregivers access programmes for developing positive parenting knowledge and skills.
