Action with Family Care First (FCF)
This Life Cambodia will unite their efforts and expertise to reintegrate approximately 42 children into family-based care (direct family or kinship care), with a particular focus on children living in residential care institutes (RCI).
Working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation (MoSVY), the project will cover Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
This Life Cambodia also plans to train the reintegration practice with 100 social workers throughout the upcoming four 3-day trainings. It will help practitioners address the concept of knowledge translation and help address the “gap” between guidelines and practice. In the action cycle it will 1) adapt to local context 2) address the barriers of application 3) ensure quality practice is implemented 4) ensure outcomes are monitored 5) the acquired knowledge is reapplied in the organisations engaged in reintegration. Ongoing mentoring will also be provided through Skype calls to those who need additional support.
