Early intervention and prevention services refer to the provision of early support to children and their caregivers to prevent problems from occurring, or address them early to prevent them from worsening. They are often referred to as secondary services and are targeted towards children and families who are at risk of poor outcomes, including children who have developmental delays and disabilities.

Crisis Pregnancy Services

Pregnancy support services are provided to those experiencing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy. This can include counselling, legal support, and support in accessing other services such as prenatal and antenatal care, abortive or alternative care services, depending on the woman’s choice. It can also include family strengthening services provided to new mothers after birth to support their decision to raise their child. This may involve housing, education, employment, daycare and parenting skills training.
